The Bihar government has announced a major update to its Social Security Pension Schemes in June 2025. The monthly pension for senior citizens, widows, and differently-abled citizens has been increased to ₹1100 per month, offering much-needed financial support.
This scheme, officially called the Mukhyamantri Vridhjan Pension Yojana (MVPY), aims to provide stability and dignity to the elderly who have no other source of income.

Who Is Eligible?
To receive benefits under this scheme, you must:
- Be a resident of Bihar
- Be 60 years of age or older
- Not receive a government or private pension
- Have a valid Aadhaar number and linked bank account
- Be registered on the eLabharthi portal
